A good fit if

- You live outside the US and want a US company
- You want simple bookkeeping and few formalities
- You aren't raising money from investors yet
Need something a bit different? We form that too
- Raising money from investors? They usually expect a corporation, and we form those too.
- US owner with steady profits? Add S corp tax status to your LLC, and we file the election.
- Doctor, lawyer or accountant? Some states ask for a professional LLC (PLLC). Ask us about yours.
What an LLC costs
Three parts, all shown before you pay: the state's fee to form, the state's yearly fee, and our package.
State fees

The states founders compare most
State government fees only. Pick a state, or choose "Help me choose" in the order and we'll recommend one.

Questions people ask
Can I form a US LLC if I don't live in the US?
Yes. No state requires LLC owners to be US citizens or residents. You need a registered agent with an address in your state (our Complete package includes one for the first year), and your EIN is applied for by phone, fax or mail instead of online.
Which state should I form my LLC in?
If you live in the US, usually your home state: forming somewhere else often means registering in your home state too. If you live abroad, founders usually compare yearly costs. Wyoming ($60 a year), Delaware ($400 a year) and New Mexico (no yearly report) are common choices. Every state's fees are on one page.
How is an LLC taxed?
By default, a single-owner LLC is taxed on the owner's own return, and an LLC with several owners files a partnership return. It can choose to be taxed as a corporation, or, if every owner is a US citizen or resident, as an S corp. Your accountant can tell you which suits you, and if you choose S corp status, we file the election.
Do I need an operating agreement?
Some states require one, and banks usually ask for it. Both our packages include one written for your type of LLC.
What does an LLC cost every year?
Each state sets its own. New Mexico and Missouri have no yearly report or fee, Wyoming charges $60 a year and Delaware $400, and California charges the most: an $800 tax every year. Every state's yearly filing is listed with its fee and due date.
